The demolition drive was halted after a large mob formed a human chain to obstruct the entry of JCBs into the area. Women protesters seated on the unauthorized structure further complicated the law and order situation, according to a statement from the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).

The MCD clarified that the drive aimed to address unauthorized religious encroachments in a municipal park. Despite removing 20 meters of the structure, the situation became untenable, and police advised a temporary halt to maintain peace. A status report on the issue has been filed with the Delhi High Court.
