Fugitive Nabbed After 11 Years: Police Solve 2013 Contractor Murder Case

The Central Crime Unit of MBVV Police apprehended a murder suspect who evaded capture for 11 years. The accused, Hira alias Khurshid Alam Mohammad Hanif Ansari, was ultimately found in Sahaswan, Uttar Pradesh, following a meticulous ten-day operation. The case involved a 2013 murder in Maharashtra over a monetary dispute.

In a significant breakthrough, the Central Crime Unit (CCU) of Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar (MBVV) Police apprehended a murder suspect who had eluded capture for more than 11 years. The suspect, identified as Hira alias Khurshid Alam Mohammad Hanif Ansari, was located in a field in Sahaswan, Uttar Pradesh, after an exhaustive ten-day operation.

The case dates back to the intervening night of January 1 and 2, 2013, when 44-year-old contractor Maheshkumar Ramchand was brutally attacked with a spade and pickaxe in Nallasopara, Palghar district, Maharashtra. Following the murder, the attackers attempted to incinerate the victim's body to obliterate evidence.

Initial investigations led to the arrests of Ameer Abbas Moiddin Sheikh and Mohammad Nayeem Bannemia Ansari. However, Hira evaded authorities until recent tips directed police to his hideout. Captured on June 24, he was subsequently brought to Valiv in Palghar district. According to officials, the motive behind the murder was a monetary dispute between the victim and the accused.
