ED Nabs Key Accused in JKSSB Paper Leak Case

The Enforcement Directorate has arrested Anil Kumar, a key accused in the 2022 JKSSB Sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak case. Kumar, one of the prime orchestrators, was remanded to five-day custody by a special court. The investigation has unveiled significant monetary transactions linked to the crime.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has arrested Anil Kumar, a key accused in the 2022 Jammu and Kashmir Service Selection Board (JKSSB) Sub-inspector recruitment exam paper leak case. Kumar, a 31-year-old resident of Lahroda in Haryana's Mahendragarh district, was taken into custody on Wednesday under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), officials reported.

On Thursday, Kumar was produced before the special judge for anti-corruption (CBI-ED cases) in Jammu. The court remanded him to ED custody for a period of five days. According to ED investigations, Kumar played a major role in orchestrating the scam and benefited financially from the proceeds collected from aspirants.

This comes in the wake of the ED's arrest of the alleged 'kingpin' Yatin Yadav in June. The investigation has uncovered a network of monetary transactions that funneled illicit funds through bank accounts linked to Kumar and a proprietorship firm, M/s New Global Fumigation Corporation. The selected candidate list for the Sub-inspector post, along with other recruitment lists, had been cancelled by the Jammu and Kashmir administration due to allegations of malpractice.
