India to Observe 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' to Remember Emergency Victims

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Friday that June 25 will be observed as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas,' serving as a solemn reminder of the day the Constitution was trampled.
He stated on 'X,' ''It is also a day to pay homage to every person who suffered due to the excesses during the Emergency, a dark phase unleashed by Congress in Indian history.'' Modi's announcement followed Home Minister Amit Shah's declaration to commemorate June 25, the day Emergency was declared in 1975, as 'Samvidhaan Hatya Diwas' to honor the substantial contributions of those who endured the inhuman pains of that period.
