Police in Spain and Germany have detained four individuals suspected of selling drone components to Hezbollah, a militant group backed by Iran in Lebanon, authorities announced on Thursday. The investigation began in Spain, uncovering Spanish companies owned by Lebanese-born individuals trading large quantities of military drone parts.
According to Spanish police, document analysis revealed that Hezbollah could have potentially assembled several hundred drones using these parts, many loaded with explosives, and deployed them against Israel. The seized components in Spain and Germany match those found on drone remnants in Israel.
The conflict has escalated since Hezbollah declared a stance in support of Palestinian actions against Israel, causing significant casualties and destruction in Lebanon reminiscent of the 2006 Israel-Lebanon war.
