NIA Investigates Rameshwaram Cafe Blast Onsite

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) conducted spot inspections at Rameshwaram Cafe following a blast on March 1. The inspection, attended by two key accused, took place amid heavy police presence. The NIA has arrested five individuals in connection with the incident, including the mastermind and main perpetrator.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday brought two accused to Rameshwaram Cafe for inspection, following a blast incident there on March 1, according to police sources.

The NIA has extensively searched over 29 locations countrywide as part of its investigation into the Cafe blast.

'A team of NIA probing the Rameshwaram Cafe blast came here this morning at the Cafe for spot inspection along with two of the accused as part of their internal investigation into the case,' a police source said.

The inspection took place under heavy police presence, with barricades erected around the Cafe.

Officials stated that the NIA took over the case on March 3 and arrested two key accused—mastermind Adbul Matheen Ahmed Taahaa and perpetrator Mussavir Hussain Shazib—on April 12 from Kolkata, where they were hiding under assumed identities.

The duo, along with Maaz Muneer Ahmed and Muzammil Shareef from Karnataka, have already been arrested by the NIA.

The NIA has arrested five individuals in connection with the blast, which injured 10 people on March 1 at the Cafe in Brookfield area.
