In a significant development, an executive committee member of the BJP's Jharkhand unit has filed a complaint against former external affairs minister Salman Khurshid, alleging he made inflammatory comments regarding the recent unrest in Bangladesh, according to police sources.
Abhay Singh, who had previously overseen party affairs in the Hazaribag district, voiced concerns that Khurshid's statements could provoke communal tensions within India. Singh emphasized that minority Hindus in Bangladesh have faced severe violence, including property destruction, arson, and attacks, with women being subjected to brutal assaults and killings.
Singh, a former president of the BJP's East Singhbhum district committee, noted that the recent violence in Bangladesh surpassed the atrocities witnessed during the 1971 Indo-Pak war. He criticized Congress leaders for allegedly inciting fear about similar occurrences in India while ignoring the suffering of Hindu victims in Bangladesh. Inspector Sanjay Kumar of Sakchi police station confirmed that a complaint has been registered, and further investigations will follow to acquire video evidence of Khurshid's statements.
