A traffic police constable in Dadar, Mumbai, has leveled serious accusations against a former woman corporator and BJP leader, Akshata Tendulkar, for making derogatory remarks about his religion. The incident unfolded on a bustling road on Sunday and has quickly garnered public attention.
Both the ex-corporator and the constable, Zoheb Shakeel Sayyed, have lodged cross complaints at the Shivaji Park police station. Sayyed alleges that Tendulkar approached him while he was on duty, demanding action against illegal parking. The situation escalated when Sayyed attempted to address illegal parking by members of the Muslim community, which provoked Tendulkar.
According to the constable's complaint, Tendulkar made inflammatory accusations, claiming the individuals were from Bangladesh and Pakistan and linked them to violence in Bangladesh. A video capturing the heated confrontation, including Tendulkar throwing vegetables from a vendor’s cart and issuing threats, has gone viral. Mumbai Police have confirmed they are investigating the complaints. Tendulkar was not available for comment.
