A substantial Ukrainian drone attack on Russia's Tver region ignited a massive explosion and led to the partial evacuation of residents near a large Russian arsenal on Wednesday, as reported by war bloggers and various media outlets.
Unverified video footage and social media images depicted a colossal fireball lighting up the night sky, with detonations resonating across a nearby lake. Early Wednesday morning, NASA satellites detected multiple heat sources, and earthquake sensors registered a minor tremor in the vicinity.
According to a Telegram post by Igor Rudenya, the governor of the Tver region, firefighters are currently working to contain the blaze, although the exact materials burning remain undisclosed. An RIA state news agency report from 2018 indicated that the arsenal was being built for storing missiles, ammunition, and explosives in the Toropets town. Despite the apparent severity, no casualties have been reported so far.
