On Friday, U.N. officials expressed growing concern that Israeli evacuation directives in northern Gaza might disrupt an upcoming polio vaccination campaign scheduled for next week.
Rik Peeperkorn, the WHO representative for the occupied Palestinian territory, conveyed his apprehensions about the situation in a briefing with reporters in Geneva.
Jean Gough, UNICEF's Special Representative in the State of Palestine, also highlighted the complexities of the current conditions, which she described as more challenging than those faced during the initial phase of the vaccination campaign last month.
