In a major development, Pune rural police have confiscated Rs 5 crore in cash from a car amidst the model code of conduct for the upcoming Maharashtra assembly polls.
The unaccounted cash was seized on Monday evening during a routine road check near Khed-Shivapur plaza on the Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, according to sources.
In a related development, Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut alleged that Rs 15 crore, reportedly linked to a Shiv Sena MLA, was seized, raising further questions and concerns.
