Phone-Tapping Mystery: Former MLA Lingaiah Faces Scrutiny

Hyderabad police have intensified their investigation into the phone-tapping scandal alleged during the previous BRS regime. The latest development involves the summoning of former MLA Chirumarthi Lingaiah for questioning. Lingaiah, who is the first non-police official called for questioning, has requested an extension until November 14, citing health issues.
This investigation has already led to the arrest of four officials, including a suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police from the Special Intelligence Bureau and two Additional Superintendents of Police. The arrests highlight allegations of unauthorized surveillance and data erasure of intelligence information from multiple gadgets.
In a twist to the unfolding drama, the former chief of the Special Intelligence Bureau and another suspect remain elusive, reportedly hiding in the US. Accusations suggest that the phones of several political leaders, including a High Court Judge, were compromised, spotlighting a severe breach of privacy.
