In an alarming development, unidentified gunmen abducted two government officials and a prominent business leader in Pakistan’s northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, according to a police report on Thursday.

Deputy Commissioner Nasir Khan confirmed the kidnapping of Customs Superintendent Nisar Abbasi, Inspector Khushal, and Saif-ur-Rehman, the president of the Waziristan Chamber of Commerce. The incident occurred as the victims were returning from the Customs Office at Angoor Adda, a critical border point in South Waziristan district.

A joint operation by the district administration and police is currently underway to ensure the safe recovery of the individuals. As tensions rise, authorities are on high alert, with no group stepping forward to claim responsibility for the abduction thus far.
