Manipur's Budget Focus: Aid and Opportunities for IDPs

On Friday, Manipur Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla assessed the budgetary allocations for various state departments and the ongoing efforts to assist Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in relief camps. This was confirmed by officials during a review meeting in the state.

Governor Bhalla, joined by Chief Secretary P K Singh and several senior officials, explored opportunities for skill development and potential employment for IDPs within private sectors. The governor stressed the importance of implementing the central initiative 'Hunar Se Rojgar' to benefit the state's youth, particularly those displaced.

In addition, Bhalla had a meeting with Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, Director General of Assam Rifles, at the Raj Bhavan, where he was briefed on the current operational and deployment activities in the region. These discussions are part of broader efforts to stabilize and support Manipur's communities.
