In a chilling revelation, Delhi Police have arrested a woman for her involvement in child trafficking, not only selling other children but attempting to sell her own, officials have stated.

The suspect, a 34-year-old woman, was discovered to be part of an extensive syndicate during an investigation by the railway police. She had reportedly been trafficking children for years, resorting to selling her 15-month-old son and unborn child amid crippling financial distress. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Railway) KPS Malhotra disclosed these details to PTI.

Since her arrest earlier this month at New Delhi Railway Station, two kidnapped children have been rescued. The bust unveiled a gang that provided kidnapped children to childless couples under the pretense of legal adoption. The investigation fortified with CCTV analysis and phone tracking, has so far led to four arrests, including a self-proclaimed doctor who misrepresented trafficked infants as abandoned. The group operated methodically, skillfully avoiding legal scrutiny by using coded language and altering phone contacts frequently.
