Tensions Rise as India Thwarts Pakistani Drone Attack

In response to escalating military tensions, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah departed for Jammu early Friday to assess the situation following an attempted drone strike by Pakistan.

India's swift action on Thursday night successfully neutralized a coordinated Pakistani military offensive targeting multiple Indian military installations, including those in Jammu, Pathankot, and Udhampur, with drones and missiles.

Explosions echoed across Akhnoor, Samba, Baramulla, and Kupwara, prompting the temporary closure of schools by Education Minister Sakina Itoo. Meanwhile, the Indian defense ministry reiterated its readiness to safeguard national sovereignty and public safety amid fears of a potential military conflict.
