Turkey's Border Vigilance Amid Iran-Israel Tensions

Turkey has increased security at its Iran border due to recent conflict in the region but reports no rise in border crossings. In response to the ongoing tensions between Iran and Israel, Turkey has amplified its border security measures with Iran. A source from the Turkish Defence Ministry reported Thursday that despite the heightened vigilance, there is no observed influx of individuals attempting to cross the border.

This development comes as Turkey, a NATO member sharing a 560-km border with Iran, condemns Israel's actions against Iran, deeming them a breach of international law. Turkey has also offered to facilitate the renewal of nuclear negotiations between Iran and the United States.

President Tayyip Erdogan, addressing the situation, labeled Israel's actions as 'state terrorism' and declared Turkey's intent to bolster its defenses to deter any potential aggressions. The envisioned 'Steel Dome' similar to Israel's 'Iron Dome' is still years from realization, as experts emphasize the need for expanded missile capabilities.
