In a tragic escalation of violence, two separate terrorist attacks rocked the restive Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province in northwest Pakistan, leaving five people dead, including two security personnel and three local peace committee members, police reported on Sunday.

The first attack involved a roadside bomb targeting a military patrol vehicle, resulting in the death of two soldiers and injuries to three others. Shortly thereafter, unidentified gunmen killed three peace committee members in the Shahab Khel area.

Authorities have intensified security measures, sealing off affected areas as investigations proceed. This surge in terrorist activities follows the collapse of a ceasefire agreement with the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan, with the nation witnessing a significant rise in militant attacks.
