Supreme Court Stays Proceedings Against Ex-MLA's Son in High-Profile Legal Battle

The Supreme Court on Tuesday temporarily halted an Allahabad High Court directive that sought to advance the trial in two cases involving Abdullah Azam Khan, son of prominent Samajwadi Party leader Azam Khan.

Justices M M Sundresh and N Kotiswar Singh issued a notice to the Uttar Pradesh government in response to an appeal filed by Abdullah.

The controversies center on allegations of a fake passport, discrepancies in birth dates, and dual PAN card possession, following complaints by BJP MLA Akash Saxena, who accused Abdullah of election misconduct.
