Security Reinforcement: New CISF Manpower to Safeguard India's Heart of Governance

The Indian government has approved the addition of over 700 CISF personnel to safeguard the Common Central Secretariat, newly inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi. The CISF, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, will oversee security for 10 buildings designed to house central government ministries, enhancing efficiency and safety.

In a significant move to bolster security, the Indian government has sanctioned more than 700 new personnel for the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). These forces will provide a protective cover for the newly inaugurated Common Central Secretariat (CCS). Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first building of this ambitious project.

The CISF's Central Government Building Security (CGBS) unit, under the Ministry of Home Affairs, will secure all 10 buildings of the CCS. Tasked with safeguarding all central government ministries and departments in the national capital, the unit's strength is set to increase to nearly 5,000 personnel.

In addition to the CCS, approximately 200 more CISF personnel will protect the National Investigation Agency's extension office and the Sushma Swaraj Bhawan. With several CCS buildings still under construction, more manpower approvals are anticipated to ensure the complex offers optimal security.
