Overnight drone attacks on the Tula and Nizhny Novgorod regions in Russia, reportedly initiated by Ukraine, left three dead, according to regional and defense officials. These incidents also extended toward Moscow, intensifying regional tensions.
Tula Governor Dmitry Milyaev reported two fatalities and two hospitalizations following an attack near midnight. In the Nizhny Novgorod region, Governor Gleb Nikitin confirmed another fatality and two injuries in an industrial zone hit by Ukrainian forces.
Russian air defense forces intercepted 59 drones overnight, including 12 over Tula and two over Moscow. While Ukraine has not commented, both nations dispute civilian targeting claims amidst continuing warfare that has cost civilian lives since Russia's invasion began in February 2022.
