France Leads Virtual Summit on Ukraine Peace Efforts
France will host a virtual summit with 30 countries to discuss security support for Ukraine post-peace agreement with Russia. The meeting aims to denounce Moscow's negotiation reluctance and evaluate security guarantees. Zelenskiy appreciates Macron's support, urging strengthened positions against Russia's prolonged conflict.
France is set to host a largely virtual meeting on Thursday, drawing representatives from around 30 nations. The focus is to evaluate efforts to ensure Ukraine receives security support following a hoped-for peace agreement with Russia.
Amid discussions, Moscow's ongoing negotiation reluctance remains a major concern. Leaders from European and American nations, building upon prior talks in Washington on August 18, will explore security guarantees for Ukraine.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, set to travel to Paris, took to X to express gratitude to French President Macron for steadfast support. In coordination efforts with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, Zelenskiy emphasized the need to bolster positions against Russia's extended conflict.
