In a significant move to strengthen technological collaboration, U.S. President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer signed a groundbreaking Tech Prosperity Deal during Trump's state visit to the UK. The deal focuses on developing AI models for healthcare, expanding quantum computing, and streamlining civil nuclear projects.
Despite the serious tone of agreements worth hundreds of billions of dollars, Trump humorously admitted his limited knowledge of AI. Hosting an array of tech leaders, including Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang, Trump quipped about the tech world's rapid advance, much to the amusement of Starmer and the audience.
Nvidia announced plans to deploy the largest rollout of 120,000 graphics processing units in Europe as part of the deal. Trump jokingly consulted Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent before signing, lightheartedly assigning blame if the deal proves unfavorable.
