In a bid to fortify Andhra Pradesh's law enforcement, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has unveiled plans to enhance the police department's welfare and security features. Addressing the gathering on Police Commemoration Day at Mangalagiri's Sixth Battalion, Naidu stressed the importance of respect and protection for police officers and their families.
Over the past 16 months, the state has allocated Rs 33 crore for police healthcare and Rs 23 crore in insurance for the deceased. Naidu promised timely promotions and highlighted the recruitment of 6,100 constables. Furthermore, he emphasized the need for police to adopt cutting-edge technologies to combat evolving crime dynamics.
The Chief Minister warned against the perils of social media, urging police to mitigate its harmful impacts. He also noted that investment, such as Google's $15 billion commitment to Vizag, requires a conflict-free society. Naidu paid tributes to police martyrs and praised their selfless service for community safety.
