Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov announced on Wednesday that preparations for a summit between President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are currently underway, according to the Russian state news agency RIA.
Ryabkov conveyed optimism, stating that he sees no major obstacles in organizing the summit. However, he emphasized the complexity of elaborating the parameters set by the presidents in Anchorage, acknowledging the intricate nature of diplomatic negotiations.
Furthermore, Ryabkov could not confirm whether Russia has communicated its position to Washington in a 'non-paper.' This follows reports by U.S. officials and a source familiar with the matter that Russia reiterated its previous peace terms for Ukraine in such a document.
