Tobacco Industry Faces Registration Deadline for 2026 Compliance

The Tobacco Board has issued a directive to all stakeholders involved in the tobacco industry, including manufacturers, exporters, and dealers, to register or renew their registration for the year 2026. Applicants have until November 1 for new submissions, while renewals are due by November 30.

This mandatory registration process is part of the compliance with Section 12 of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975. As per the latest notice, all interested parties must file their applications online through the Tobacco Board portal, with manual submissions no longer accepted.

Non-compliance constitutes a violation of the Tobacco Board Act, 1975, and the Board has cautioned that legal action will be taken against those manufacturing or exporting tobacco without a license. Moreover, the submission of statutory returns and adherence to all rules and regulations is imperative for successful registration renewal.
