Turkey, a critic of Israel's actions in Gaza, has recently taken on an increased role in mediating the ceasefire following discussions with U.S. President Donald Trump. Although Turkey aims to contribute positively to the ceasefire, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed opposition to Turkish forces being deployed in Gaza.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized the need for a security force composed of nations acceptable to Israel but avoided specifying Turkey's role. Erdogan maintains that Gulf countries must assist in Gaza's reconstruction efforts as tensions between Israel and Turkey linger.
