A NATO official clarified that such adjustments are not uncommon, stating, 'Even with this adjustment, the US force posture in Europe remains larger than it has been for many years.' This indicates a continued robust presence, despite the proposed reductions.

The official further emphasized ongoing communication between NATO and US authorities, aimed at ensuring NATO's capacity to deter and defend remains uncompromised. The US had informed NATO about these adjustments in advance to maintain strategic alignment.
