Bengaluru Metro Bomb Threat: Arrest of Mentally Ill Suspect

A 62-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sending a bomb threat email to the Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL), according to police reports released on Tuesday. The suspect, reportedly suffering from mental illness, warned the metro employees in his email.
The threatening email was sent on November 13 from the man's rented residence in Belthur near Kadugodi. In his email, he stated he would bomb a metro station if his ex-wife faced any 'mental torture' after work hours by the metro employees.
Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh confirmed an FIR was filed and the suspect was apprehended. Further investigations revealed the threat to be a hoax. The case is being investigated under section 351 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
