Mehbooba Mufti, chief of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), has publicly condemned the recent demolition of a journalist's home in Jammu, viewing it as a direct result of the National Conference government's refusal to pass a protective anti-bulldozer bill.
Mufti emphasized that such actions, which reportedly target minority populations and undocumented landholders, have left Jammu and Kashmir suffering under severe consequences. She expressed her dismay on social media, contrasting the situation with similar incidents in Uttar Pradesh.
The home of journalist Arfaz Ahmad, constructed four decades ago, was reduced to rubble during an anti-encroachment operation by the Jammu Development Authority. This incident has amplified discussions on property rights and government accountability in the region.
