Job aspirants in Karnataka rallied on Monday, pushing for the state government to initiate recruitment in various departments. The protest, organized by Janasamanyara Vedike and Udyogakankshigala Horata Samiti, saw police detain 35 participants, including women, citing security and congestion concerns.

The demonstrators, composed of students from different city parts, had planned to march from Srinagar Circle to the District Commissioner's office. Despite police intervention and lack of permission, they pushed forward, demanding policies on vacancies during the upcoming state legislature session.

Dharwad Police Commissioner N Shashikumar explained that permission was withheld due to potential law-and-order issues, noting the significant student population in the area. He emphasized the need for lawful protest conduct, while acknowledging protesters' rights to demonstrate under regulated conditions.
