The controversy surrounding voter registration in the Ghosi Lok Sabha constituency intensified as Mau District Magistrate Praveen Mishra refuted allegations put forth by Samajwadi Party MP Rajeev. Despite claims of mass voter deletions, Mishra maintained that the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls has been executed without flaws.
In a social media post, Mishra labeled the allegations as 'baseless' and backed his stance by highlighting the completion of work by several Booth Level Officers. He reassured the public that the SIR process is advancing well, with ongoing collection and digitization of enumeration forms.
MP Rajeev claims that 20,000 names were removed from the electoral rolls. However, Mishra argued that any changes made were separate from the SIR, which still has an open window for complaints and objections once the draft rolls are published.
