Justice Rajesh Bindal, a Supreme Court judge, stressed the importance of strong arbitral institutions to deal with the growing disputes in India's rapidly expanding infrastructure sector. Attending a conference in New Delhi, he called for expert mediation and improved contract drafting as mechanisms to prevent disputes from stalling critical projects.

The event highlighted the challenges posed by the current fragmented nature of construction law and the need for streamlined dispute resolution frameworks. Attorney General R Venkataramani advocated for dedicated legislation to unify the construction sector. Additionally, concerns about AI-generated fabricated evidence in arbitration were brought to the fore.

Delhi High Court's Justice Tejas Karia and other delegates emphasized technological and collaborative approaches to dispute resolution. A newly launched white paper by Khaitan and Co underscored the need for standard protocols and technology-driven solutions in arbitrations, positioning India as a potential hub for infrastructure dispute resolution.
