Lost and Found: Tribal Man Returns to Odisha After 11 Years in Bangladesh

Sudam Hembram, a tribal man from Odisha, was reunited with his family after living in Bangladesh for 11 years. He had inadvertently crossed the border. Following coordination between Indian and Bangladeshi authorities, Hembram was returned to India through the Haridaspur check post.

A tribal man from Odisha, Sudam Hembram, has returned to his homeland after 11 years of residing in Bangladesh, having crossed the border unintentionally.

Hembram, 41, was officially handed over at the Haridaspur check post, where Indian authorities received him following prompt coordination with their Bangladeshi counterparts.

This development comes after the Mayurbhanj Police were informed of Hembram's situation by the Indian High Commission in Dhaka. After verification and formal procedures, he was finally reunited with his family.
