Vienna Court Halts Firtash Extradition Over Bribery Allegations
A Vienna court has halted the extradition of Ukrainian business magnate Dmytro Firtash to the United States, where he faces bribery charges. The court's decision, which cannot be appealed, underpins Firtash's 2013 indictment in a case involving bribing Indian officials. Prosecutors' appeal was firmly rejected.

A Vienna court has halted the extradition of Ukrainian businessman Dmytro Firtash to the United States, blocking the transfer over bribery charges that have been pending since a 2013 indictment.
The court declared that its decision is final and cannot be contested further, maintaining Firtash's stance as he faces accusations linked to alleged bribes involving Indian government officials. Although Firtash denies any wrongdoing, the case included charges not only against him but also against a member of India's parliament and four others.
The Vienna court's latest judgment dismisses an appeal from prosecutors aiming to overturn a previous ruling that also denied the extradition.
