Delhi HC Speeds to Protect Salman Khan's Personality Rights

The Delhi High Court has swiftly moved to address Bollywood superstar Salman Khan's plea for the protection of his personality rights. The court instructed social media platforms to act within three days, treating the complaint under the Information and Technology (Intermediaries Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
Khan had approached the court to prevent the unauthorized exploitation of his name, image, and likeness by digital platforms and e-commerce websites. Justice Manmeet Pritam Singh Arora indicated that the court would issue restraining orders against any other entities using Khan's image without permission.
The court assigned a May 18, 2026, hearing for further discussions while emphasizing the need for social media intermediaries to engage with complaints before seeking judicial intervention, citing similar cases involving Ajay Devgn and NTR Rao Junior.
