A Delhi court has denied the transit anticipatory bail pleas of Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra, the proprietors of Birch by Romeo Lane nightclub in Goa, following a devastating fire that claimed 25 lives last week.
In court proceedings, the state of Goa vociferously opposed their bail, highlighting the Luthra brothers' attempts to evade the legal processes by leaving Goa immediately after the incident. Additional Sessions Judge Vandana emphasized that the gravity of the allegations and the brothers' conduct rendered them ineligible for anticipatory bail.
The defense sought to assure the court of their clients' willingness to cooperate with the investigation and requested limited protection to return to Delhi and attend the legal hearings. Nonetheless, the court maintained its decision, pending a detailed order.
