Land Records Officials Caught in Bribery Scandal
Senior officials from the Land Records Office in Navi Mumbai were arrested for accepting a Rs 6 lakh bribe related to a plot measurement case in the airport impact area. The Anti-Corruption Bureau set up a trap following a developer's complaint of illegal demands for securing the necessary documents.

The Anti-Corruption Bureau has apprehended a senior official from the Land Records Office and his assistant for accepting a Rs 6 lakh bribe regarding a plot measurement in Navi Mumbai, sources reveal.
The ACB conducted an operation after a complaint of illegal gratification was filed by a 27-year-old developer, alleging a demand for bribes to secure land documents. ACB Deputy Superintendent of Police Dharmaraj Sonke provided these details on Tuesday.
According to the complainant, both Kalimuddin Riazuddin Sheikh and Deputy Superintendent of Land Records Dilip Tulshiram Bagule initially demanded Rs 2 lakh, escalating it to Rs 9 lakh, but eventually negotiating to Rs 6 lakh. On December 16, as a trap was laid, Sheikh was caught accepting the bribe while Bagule was detained. A case under the Prevention of Corruption Act has been filed.
