Indian Visa Services Center in Dhaka Shuts Amid Security Concerns

The Indian Visa Application Centre in Dhaka closed its office due to security concerns. Scheduled appointments are postponed. India has expressed serious concerns to Bangladesh via its envoy, urging the interim government to safeguard the security of its diplomatic missions amidst threats from extremist elements.

On Wednesday, the Indian Visa Application Centre (IVAC) in Dhaka, Bangladesh's capital, closed its doors citing security concerns.

The Jamuna Future Park facility, a major center for Indian visa services, announced the closure and rescheduling of planned appointments.

In response, India's Ministry of External Affairs summoned Bangladesh's envoy to express grave concerns over extremist threats around its Dhaka mission, urging protection of diplomatic sites.
