The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS), in collaboration with the Coast Guard, has successfully intercepted two Iranian nationals found with more than 200 kilograms of chemical substances off the Gujarat coast, officials confirmed on Tuesday.

The joint operation, which spanned over 8 to 10 hours, began after a tip-off regarding a suspicious chemical entering Indian waters near the international maritime boundary line, approximately 140 nautical miles from Porbandar.

The suspects were apprehended at around 8 p.m. on Monday evening aboard a speed boat alleged to have come from Iran, with intentions of delivering the material to an individual in Punjab. The boat, along with 203 packets of a white powdery substance, was seized for further forensic analysis.
