The Supreme Court has reserved its verdict in a key election petition filed by AIADMK leader Saidai S Duraisamy, challenging Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin's 2011 election win.
Duraisamy, who narrowly lost to Stalin, alleged corruption and misuse of funds in the Kolathur constituency. He accused the DMK of using money and innovative methods to illicitly sway voters.
The Madras High Court dismissed the initial petition in 2017, but the Supreme Court's decision is now eagerly awaited, as it reviews these significant electoral malpractice allegations under the Representation of the People Act.
