UAE Dismantles Alleged Hezbollah-Linked Terrorist Network
UAE authorities have dismantled a terrorist network allegedly linked to Hezbollah and Iran, arresting its members for activities like money laundering and threatening national security. Lebanon condemned the plot, and the development follows a similar incident in Kuwait involving Hezbollah-linked activities. Tensions in the region continue to escalate.
United Arab Emirates security authorities have successfully dismantled a terrorist network allegedly funded by Lebanon's Hezbollah and Iran, according to the state news agency on Friday. The network reportedly operated under a commercial facade, engaged in money laundering, and posed a threat to national security and financial stability.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the alleged plot against the UAE and denounced Hezbollah's involvement, emphasizing cooperation with Lebanese authorities to hold the culpable parties accountable. This follows a separate incident in Kuwait where a Hezbollah-linked group was reportedly planning security threats, although Hezbollah has denied these claims.
Since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran, tensions have risen, with Iran launching extensive missile and drone attacks. The UAE, a known opponent of political Islamist movements, has faced numerous strikes targeting its oil facilities and urban centers, prompting regional escalations.
