In a shocking turn of events, a Border Security Force (BSF) constable named Jaswinder Singh has died while in the custody of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). Singh had been picked up for questioning on March 3 from Jammu by the NCB concerning an ongoing investigation.
According to Amritsar's Maqboolpura Station House Officer, Jasjit Singh, the BSF constable's health deteriorated rapidly, leading to his death during treatment on a Friday night at an Amritsar hospital. There is an ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding his sudden demise.
The family of Jaswinder Singh, including his mother Gurmeet Kaur and his wife, allege he faced brutal assault while under custody. The family was not informed of his declining health until March 20. They demand justice and the strictest actions against those responsible, staging a protest in Jammu.
