Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has accused the government of legally enforcing discrimination against Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) through a proposed bill. Gandhi asserted that his party would overturn this 'discriminatory law' once in power. He emphasized that CAPF personnel deserve leadership opportunities previously reserved for IPS officers.

In a video statement, Gandhi underlined the case of Assistant Commandant Ajay Malik, who suffered a severe injury in service. Despite Malik's sacrifices, Gandhi highlighted the systematic denial of promotion for CAPF personnel, with top positions often allocated to IPS officers, resulting in institutional injustice.

Gandhi further accused the government of avoiding parliamentary debate on this issue, stating that the bill was deliberately timed to coincide with his tour in Assam. He called out the government's 'calculated parliamentary management' and reaffirmed Congress' commitment to honoring CAPF soldiers through policy changes when back in power.
