Iran has executed two men following convictions related to an attempted storming of a military facility during unrest in January. The judicial source, Mizan news outlet, reported the executions of Mohammadamin Biglari and Shahin Vahedparast on Sunday.

The Supreme Court maintained the decision, labeling the men as rioters intending to commit mass murder by stealing military weapons. This is part of a severe crackdown by Iran on anti-government protests, which saw the execution of 18-year-old Amirhossein Hatami just last week.

Amnesty International has raised alarms about 11 additional men facing imminent execution for their protest involvement, highlighting torture and unfair trials reliant on forced confessions as central issues within the convicted cases.
