Kosovo's Parliament has announced its decision to deploy security troops to an international force aimed at stabilizing Gaza after a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas last year. The overwhelming 89-0 vote reflects Kosovo's gratitude for NATO's peacekeepers in its own past conflict with Serbia.

The International Stabilization Force, supported by the US, represents a significant gesture by Kosovo, showing its progress since declaring independence from Serbia in 2008. Defence Minister Ejup Maqedonci emphasized the importance of Kosovo transitioning from a 'security consumer' to a provider.

With a contingent comprising several dozen officers, Kosovo's troops will support humanitarian efforts, security assistance, and other duties. Preparations are underway with US assistance, marking Kosovo's readiness to contribute positively on the global stage.
