The Director General of Police in Himachal Pradesh, Ashok Tiwari, has initiated a call for investigation into SDM Poonam Bansal based on allegations of gross misconduct. Bansal is accused of abusing her official role and partaking in benami transactions.
According to the allegations, a suspicious transfer of Rs 40.50 lakh was orchestrated by her husband to facilitate property transactions. The properties were purchased under different names, hinting at indirect ownership structures designed to conceal actual proprietorship.
The scandal has attracted attention from political parties, who demand accountability and the resignation of top officials allegedly involved in halting previous investigations into related irregularities.
