Taiwan President Lai Ching-te successfully arrived in southern Africa's Eswatini, despite earlier travel obstacles attributed to China. Lai, in a Facebook announcement, highlighted his inaugural journey after accusations from Taiwan's government about China's influence obstructing airspace access last April.
He expressed gratitude for Eswatini's warm welcome despite the delay. The president's initial travel plans were disrupted as Seychelles, Mauritius, and Madagascar unexpectedly revoked overflight permissions, reportedly under China's sway.
Eswatini remains steadfast in its support for Taiwan amid international challenges, showcasing its commitment through decisive diplomatic actions, according to Lai.
