On the first anniversary of Operation Sindoor, Union Home Minister Amit Shah lauded the mission as a defining moment in India’s defense history. He emphasized that the operation exemplified the Indian armed forces' precision and intelligence in counter-terrorism operations.
Operation Sindoor was launched on May 7 following a brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 individuals, predominantly tourists. The operation targeted nine terror infrastructure sites across the Pakistani border, demonstrating India’s resolve to combat terrorism.
Though Pakistan attempted retaliatory strikes, they were largely intercepted by India's military. Hostilities gradually de-escalated, with both sides agreeing to cease military actions after discussions between army officials. The operation continues to serve as a stern warning to potential threats.
