In a significant political development, newly appointed Chief Minister of West Bengal, Suvendu Adhikari, assigned crucial portfolios to the first set of ministers in his council on Monday. The distribution of these roles is seen as a strategic move to align the government's workings with regional representation.
Prominent BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has been entrusted with the Panchayat and Rural Development, as well as the Animal Resource Development and Agricultural Marketing Departments. Similarly, Agnimitra Paul will manage Women and Child Development, Social Welfare, and Municipal Affairs, signaling an inclusive cabinet approach.
Other notable appointments include Ashok Kirtania overseeing the Food and Supplies and Co-operation departments, while Kshudiram Tudu takes charge of Tribal Development, Backward Classes Welfare, Minority Affairs, and Madrasha Education. Nisith Pramanik, meanwhile, will manage the North Bengal Development Department, Youth Services, and Sports, rounding out a cabinet that emphasizes balanced governance.
